Job Description for Senior Loss Prevention Engineer

Minimum Qualification: B.Sc (or BE) in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

Summary of Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience as safety /loss prevention engineer preferably with International Engineering Companies in onshore and offshore Oil & Gas facilities and/or oil refineries. Process design experience is an advantage.

Details of Experience: Engineering experience should cover most of the following areas/activities: Fire detection & protection, hazardous materials, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, process safety, knowledge of loss prevention engineering practices, fire & safety codes, standards and specifications such as NFPA, OSHA, EPA, API and COMAH. QA Procedures and ISO 9001, Environmental rules and regulations and ISO 14001 are essential.
Software: Knowledge and use of specific softwares such as PIPENET Sprinkler/Spray module, PHA-PRO-7, Shell FRED, PHAST for Gas Dispersion or similar. Knowledge in PHAST Risk (previously known as SAFETI) for QRA studies, RAMP for reliability studies, Fault Tree++ are desirable.

Professional Membership of Safety Engineers Association and Certification as CSP or CIH is an advantage.

Duty/Responsibilities : Candidate will be able to develop PHSE Plan, PHSER, SIMOP, Loss Prevention Philosophy, Firefighting system design (including firewater demand calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, layout drawings, equipment specifications and datasheets) escape route layout drawings and F&G detection system. Review HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, RAM, FTA/FMEA QRA study reports. Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Safety Review Study (What If Analysis). Conduct job safety audits and assist Project Engineering in development and execution of projects related to safety.
